Toyota Lexus Scion USA Sales - October 2010
The theory that Toyota's car sales are an unbreakable force doesn't jibe with October 2010's Sales Stats. Car sales at Toyota USA were down 19.6% compared with October 2009. Scion, which sells cars and nothing but, are included in that Toyota percentage decline. Thing is, if you separate Scion from the Toyota pack, Toyota's numbers get worse. See, Scion sales were up 25.7% in October, thanks in no small part to the 2011 Scion tC. Include Lexus in the mix and total Toyota Motor Corporation car sales in the USA are seen in the light of a 17% decline in October. There are bright lights in the Toyota division. Most notable among them is the rebirthed 2010 Toyota 4Runner seen in The Good 12 Supersize v2.0. 4Runner sales jumped ridiculously compared with October 2009's abysmal totals, but grew compared with September 2010, too. Check out the Scion and Lexus model-by-model breakdowns after the jump.Toyota Camry: 25,014Year-over-year volume change: -17%Last month: 30,769Year-to-date: 275,844Toyota Corolla/Matrix: 18,636Year-over-year volume change: -27.5%Last month: 21,060Year-to-date: 227,822Toyota RAV4: 14,694Year-over-year volume change: +5.2%Last month: 14,685Year-to-date: 141,085Toyota Prius: 11,731Year-over-year volume change: -13.1%Last month: 11,394Year-to-date: 115,065Toyota Sienna: 9253Year-over-year volume change: +12.2%Last month: 9920Year-to-date: 81,384Toyota Tacoma: 9028Year-over-year volume change: +1.2%Last month: 8874Year-to-date: 86,612Toyota Highlander: 8664Year-over-year volume change: +44.9%Last month: 7824Year-to-date: 71,694Toyota Tundra: 7187Year-over-year volume change: -4.6%Last month: 6923Year-to-date: 75,832Toyota 4Runner: 4197Year-over-year volume change: +1116.5%Last month: 3577Year-to-date: 37,374Toyota Venza: 3551Year-over-year volume change: -29.5%Last month: 3546Year-to-date: 39,961Toyota Yaris: 2707Year-over-year volume change: -38.3%Last month: 2835Year-to-date: 34,500Toyota Avalon: 2208Year-over-year volume change: -13%Last month: 2504Year-to-date: 23,513Toyota Sequoia: 1447Year-over-year volume change: -2.1%Last month: 1208Year-to-date: 10,647Toyota FJ Cruiser: 1240Year-over-year volume change: +46.1%Last month: 1424Year-to-date: 12,590Toyota Land Cruiser: 172Year-over-year volume change: +4.2%Last month: 109Year-to-date: 1450It still looks the same, but the 2011 Scion tC has undergone some changes from the model that's been around since, well, has it always been around? Sales jumped dramatically from the same period of last year and even put in a 120% boost over the month prior. Toyota USA sales tumbled in October 2010, a period in which the vast majority of automakers increased sales in double-digit fashion. Meanwhile Lexus posted gains and was the best-selling luxury brand in America. How so? Look at its two best-sellers: as always, the RX and ES pull other Lexus models along by their bootstraps.Lexus RX: 8569Year-over-year volume change: +3%Last month: 7420Year-to-date: 76,465Lexus ES: 5153Year-over-year volume change: +16.8%Last month: 3697Year-to-date: 39,113Lexus IS: 3096Year-over-year volume change: -2.1%Last month: 2447Year-to-date: 27,790Lexus GX: 1306Year-over-year volume change: +283%Last month: 1054Year-to-date: 12,828Lexus LS: 1202Year-over-year volume change: +49.5%Last month: 712Year-to-date: 9489Lexus HS: 792Year-over-year volume change: -48.1%Last month: 711Year-to-date: 8754Lexus GS: 557Year-over-year volume change: +12.8%Last month: 542Year-to-date: 5796Lexus LX: 401Year-over-year volume change: -0.7%Last month: 339Year-to-date: 2996Lexus SC: 15Year-over-year volume change: -63.4%Last month: 26Year-to-date: 298Related From GoodCarBadCar.netU.S. Auto Sales By Brand - October 2010American Honda Sales - October 2010General Motors USA Sales - October 2010Volkswagen Group USA Sales - October 2010Hyundai & Kia USA Sales - October 2010Ford Motor Company Sales - October 2010Nissan & Infiniti USA Sales - October 2010Mazda USA Sales - October 2010
