THREE-FOURTHS OF 2009 OVER : CANADA'S BEST-SELLING CAR COMPANIES
The end of an abysmal year for automakers is in sight. More to the point for automakers competing in Canada, the end to a tipsy-topsy-turvy year is in sight. With the help of incentives and an economy that didn't tank as badly as the system south of the 49th parallel, some car companies have fared better in 2009 than in 2008.
Numbers are now available for year-to-date totals of 37 automakers in Canada. You might recall that when The Good Car Guy publishes Canada Auto Sales figures at the beginning of each month, General Motors; Ford Motor Company; and Chrysler LLC are not separated by brand. For the purposes of this look at the first three quarters of 2009, every brand - even Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and Bentley - are listed with their Sales Stats from the first nine months of 2009. The hope is to offer a full run-down of these Numbers in January for the full year to clearly establish Canada's best-selling car, Canada's best-selling luxury car, Canada's best-selling truck, Canada's best-selling minivan, Canada's best-selling SUV, Canada's best-selling luxury SUV, and of course, Canada's best-selling car companies.

Canada Auto Sales February 2010

Canada Auto Sales December 2009
*Updated 01/22/2010* Pay little attention to the "plus signs" in the Sales Stats you're about to see. In case you don't recall, December of 2008 was a dreadful month for automobile sales in Canada. For those automakers which posted even lower...
