CANADA AUTO SALES FEBRUARY 2010
*Updated February 9th @ 9:09pm*
The collective Canadian automotive Marketplace shot up in the month of February. Granted, February of 2009 was the lowest-selling February in what felt like forever. 'Shooting up' from that point was a given. Still, certain automakers outperformed the rise in auto sales - they deserve credit. Others somehow lowered the bar even further for themselves: Nissan, Acura, and Suzuki come quickly to mind. In January, Audi's gains over January of 2009 were striking. This time around Volkswagen fills that role nicely.
But of greater note in February of 2010 is Ford's rise to the top. From third place in January, Ford Motor Company cruises past Chrysler's combined trio of brands and the whole of General Motors (which, incidentally, fell from first to third) with 17,910 sales. Remember, U.S. automakers which compete in Canada love to combine all the sales of all their brands until a release of information later in the month. Although GoodCarBadCar.net is yet to receive that info for January, it's likely that Ford - the individual brand - fared rather well last month, as well.
For all the figures from U.S. Sales Stats, check back soon. There's always a flurry of activity 'round these parts this time of the month.
