The Audi A4, however, was down 14.7% in July 2011. "Down" is a word that could be used to describe sales of the Volvo C30, S40, and V50, as well as the Acura TSX, BMW 1-Series, BMW 3-Series, Cadillac CTS, Infiniti G, Lexus IS, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Saab 9-3 last month.
The Bad 8-losing Lexus HS250h was up 85.5%, however, to... 306. Lincoln MKZ sales shot up 80.4%. The Audi A3 was up 2.8%.
Percentage gains are lovely, but they show improvement, not necessarily all-conquering volume. Nearly one in every four sales in the chart below belongs to the BMW 3-Series. That's volume.
