Small Car Sales Figures In Canada - June 2013 YTD
In June 2013, for just the second time this year, Canadians made the Honda Civic their favourite car. Through the first half of 2013, the Hyundai Elantra is Canada's best-selling car.
The Hyundai is only 305 units ahead of the Honda. The Honda only closed the gap by 27 units in June.
When it comes to subcompacts, Hyundai has all rivals, including the Honda Fit, roundly conquered. The only competitor which comes close to selling as often as the Accent in Canada is the Accent's fraternal twin, Kia's more attractive Rio. Rio sales are up 25% this year as sales of the Accent, Ford Fiesta, Mazda 2, Nissan Versa, Toyota Prius C, and Toyota Yaris have fallen. Sharply in some cases. All 144 Cars Ranked By June 2013 & YTD Canadian Sales

Whether the introduction of the Chevrolet Spark is responsible, sales of the Smart Fortwo and Scion iQ have tumbled this year. The Fortwo sold about three times more often in 2008 than it does now. Toyota Canada has never managed to sell more than 121 Scion iQs in a single month.

The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better, right? This explains why you'll see the Encore and XV Crosstrek are listed with small SUVs, too, and the Acura ILX shown with mainstream cars is also displayed with luxury cars... because readers have wanted it both ways.
