November 2012 Pickup Truck Sales In Canada
|
Chevy's 2014 Silverado Frightens Horses |
21,149 new pickup trucks were registered in Canada in November 2012. 34% of those trucks were Ford F-Series pickups. In all, 90% of the trucks sold last month were Rams, GMs, or Fords.
41% of the other 10%, all of which were trucks built by Japanese automakers, were Toyota Tacomas. Only 38 of the Tacoma's 897-unit total were rear-wheel-drive trucks. Only 13 of the Toyota Tundra's 555-unit total were rear-wheel-drivers.
Ford doesn't break down F-Series sales by drivetrain or bodystyle. If GM's results are anything to go by, it's not hard to see that crew cabs play a major role in the modern truck market. 62% of all GMC Sierras and 60% of all the Chevrolet Silverados sold in Canada in the first eleven months of this year were crew cab models. In fact, in GM's Canadian showrooms, where truck sales are slowing, crew cab sales are way up.All 261 Vehicles Ranked By November 2012 YTD Canadian Sales
