Luxury Car Sales In Canada - March 2013
BMW Canada is on track to sell more than 13,000 3-Series' for the first time since 2010. Without some uptick, BMW will have sold more 3-Series' in the first quarter than Volvo will have sold S60s in all of 2013. |

3-Series pricing starts below $36,000; the S60 starts at $39,150. That's exactly the opposite of what consumers expect, regardless of the S60's power and equipment (and style) advantages.
Volvo appears to have realized that North Americans expect wagon availability in Volvo showrooms, and the V60 will be on sale here in a few months. Meanwhile, the F31 version of BMW's 3-Series wagon is already arriving in Canada, rare though it will likely continue to be.
Through three months of 2012, Mercedes-Benz's C-Class was leading the 3-Series by 190 units. At the end of 2013's first quarter, the C-Class is 562 sales behind the 3-Series.Every Vehicle Ranked By March 2013 & YTD Canadian Sales
Among larger luxury cars, Mercedes-Benz's E-Class and CLS-Class lead the BMW 5-Series by 86 units. In the U.S., 11% of the E/CLS duo's total is CLS-derived. If that figure held, this would mean Mercedes-Benz Canada sold 68 CLS-Class sedans between January and March, not enough for the E-Class to have lost its lead over the 5er.Of course, Lexus sold 479 ES350s and 162 ES hybrids in the first quarter of 2013. The ES has a base price of $39,500. Mercedes-Benz E-Class pricing begins at $58,300 and stretches to $99,700. The E-Class and ES are hardly rivals.

The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better, right? This explains why you'll see the XC70 listed with luxury SUVs and the Buick LaCrosse with mainstream cars, because readers have wanted it both ways.
