Top 30 Best-Selling Vehicles In America - September 2011 - With Market Share Chart

2011 Chrysler Town & Country Black Rear
12 brands, just eight corporate entities, supplied all of this month's 30 nameplates competing for best-selling vehicle in America status. There are four trucks in this list of September 2011's America's 30 best-selling vehicles. Add to that two minivans and ten utility vehicles and you're left with 14 passenger cars, the most popular of which was the Toyota Camry.

In sixth place you'll find the Ford Escape, America's best-selling SUV and owner of 1.9% of America's new vehicle market in September. The Ford F-Series, the best-selling truck nameplate in the United States, gathered up 5.1% of all September sales thanks to a year-over-year improvement of 15%. GMC Sierra sales jumped 26%, however, and the Chevrolet Silverado was up 36%. Together, the GM twins share of the overall market totalled a healthy 5.47%.

At this juncture, The Good Car Guy typically publishes a chart displaying America's 20 best-selling vehicles, a chart which compares the market share of those 20 vehicles against the rest of the market. GoodCarBadCar.net has added a table this month which displays in-depth Sales Stats on those 20 vehicles as well as the next ten. The chart still exists, of course, and the current edition is posted below. Check out more auto market share charts here.

If you're one of those observers who would like to see GM's Silverado and Sierra joined, that would open up space for another vehicle. That vehicle would be the Toyota Prius, sales of which fell 18% in September to 9325, moving its year-to-date total through three quarters up to 93,243.

These are the Top 30 Best-Selling Vehicles In America from September 2011.
