Top 20 Best-Selling Cars In Canada - 2010 Year End

For an even more interesting 2010 Year End edition, The Good Car Guy has compiled a longer list of Canada's best-selling cars to follow up on December's Top 10 Best-Selling Cars list. Of course, adding length to the list doesn't change the champion's status, so the Honda Civic was Canada's most popular car in 2010, just as in years prior

This is despite falling Honda Civic sales. Mazda 3 sales, on the other hand, were up 2% over 2009, but that wasn't nearly enough to deal with what ended up being a 9761-unit drubbing at the hands of the Honda. 10,055 of the Hyundai Elantra's 34,556 buyers chose the Elantra Touring. 3184 of the Chevrolet Cobalt's total can be attributed to its replacement, the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. As can be quite easily deducted from a quick look at the chart below of Canada's 20 Best-Selling Cars, the Ford Fusion was Canada's favourite midsize sedan with sales up 17% in 2010. 2135 Volkswagen GTIs added to the Golf's 12,898 and the City Golf's 3053 sales to make the Volkswagen Canada's Golf family a Top 10 member.

Canada's most popular luxury car was the BMW 3-Series. If Toyota Yaris sales had remained steady from 2009, the Yaris would've been positioned in seventh this year instead of seventeenth.

Four Korean cars made their way onto Canada's Top 20 Best-Selling Cars list. There were also nine Japanese cars and three German nameplates, which leaves two Fords and two Chevrolets as America's quartet. Speaking of Korean cars, is it even possible that the gorgeous 2011 Hyundai Elantra and impressive 2012 Hyundai Accent won't move up this list of Canada's top cars by the end of 2011?
