Expanding its year-to-date Sales Stats lead in Canada by 48, the Honda Civic is now ahead of the Mazda 3 by 570 units, 31,604 trumps 31,034. Among members of the Top 10 Best-Selling Cars In Canada, only the Nissan Versa, Hyundai Accent, Chevrolet Cobalt and Chevrolet Impala improved on their June sales figures. Year-over-year improvements were posted by the Ford Fusion, Nissan Versa, Hyundai Accent, Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra, Chevrolet Cobalt, Chevrolet Impala, and Mazda 3. Basically, Honda Civic sales are falling precipitously but it's still Canada's favourite car.
Cobalts are selling with deep, deep, deep discounts at Chevrolet dealers in Canada. The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze is making sure of that. You could add the Pontiac G5's 43 July sales to the Cobalt's total if you feel like it. Many of these cars are available with ultra-low 5-year financing rates at this moment - others can be had at 1.9% or 0.9%, most with cash on the hood. For the record, sales of the Dodge Grand Caravan reached 6,083 in July; when combined with the Chrysler Town & Country the total jumps to 6,327.
Do the sales numbers seem high? You wouldn't be foolish for thining so, but overall passenger car sales in Canada were down 7.8% in July 2010. However, these vehicles don't represent the "overall". These are Canada's ten most popular cars.
