Canadian minivan sales grew 9.5% in July 2013 as the Dodge Grand Caravan reported just its second monthly year-over-year increase this year. Combined with its partner, the Town & Country, the Chrysler twins owned 61% of the minivan market; 72% of the "full-size" minivan market.
Among the three small MPVs on sale in Canada - which this year accounts for 12.4% of all minivan sales - the Chevrolet Orlando owned just 9% of the mini-minivan market in July. Orlando volume slid to its lowest total since it first went on sale in September 2011. Orlando sales were 87% stronger in October of last year than they were in July. Only the Nissan Quest and Kia Sedona sold less often than the Orlando last month.
The Mazda 5, up 46% in July, sold once for every nine Grand Caravans that Dodge sold.
