Canadian sales of the Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet Impala, Chrysler 300, Ford Taurus, Hyundai Genesis sedan, and Nissan Maxima were lower in June 2013 than in June 2012. Quite a bit lower.
And of the three extremely low-volume months achieved by the new Kia Cadenza, June was the lowest.
The bright spot in the category would be the Toyota Avalon, but only if we're thinking in a growth context. Avalon volume was nearly seven times stronger this June than in June 2012, but it's still a bit player in the large car category.
Chrysler sold five 300s for every one Avalon. Indeed, Lexus ES volume was more than double what Toyota managed with the Avalon, a car which sells 50 times more often in the U.S. than it does in Canada.
