Top 30 Best-Selling Vehicles In Canada - March 2015
Through the first quarter of 2015, the Volkswagen Jetta and Volkswagen Golf combined to outsell Canada's best-selling car, the Honda Civic. Granted, that's a somewhat unfair conclusion: the Jetta was once just a be-trunked Golf, but the cars ride on different platforms now. One could argue that the Civic, together with the Fit, for example, outsold the Golf and Jetta.

But after Volkswagen Canada's outstanding March, it's difficult to ignore the increasing strength of the VW compacts. Brand-wide sales jumped 73% to a best-ever March of 6950 sales, equal to 4.3% market share, more than double the share garnered by VW USA in March. 16% of the Golfs sold in March were GTIs; the overall Golf line was Canada's 19th-best-selling nameplate and seventh-best-selling car. The Jetta ranked 13th and 5th, respectively, in those two categories.
Volkswagen, of course, is not a purveyor of pickup trucks, at least not in Canada. And trucks generated 19% of all Canadian new vehicle sales last month. Truck nameplates earned the two top spots and four of the top seven positions on March's leaderboard.
The F-Series and Ram alone outsold the whole Volkswagen division; GMC, Dodge, Mazda, Kia, Jeep, and many others, as well. The Ford F-Series is Canada's best-selling vehicle. 2015's third month marked the best March ever for the second-ranked Ram.We've already published March lists for the 20 best-selling cars, 20 best-selling SUVs and crossovers, and complete figures for every pickup truck, links to which you'll find above. Throwing all those vehicles into one group results in this list of the 30 best-selling vehicles below. We end up with four pickup trucks, two minivans, twelve cars, and twelve utility vehicles.
Historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of these top-selling vehicles can always be accessed through the dropdown menu at GCBC's Sales Stats page, and for those not viewing the mobile version of this site, near the top right of this page, as well.
