Top 20 Best-Selling SUVs In Canada - November 2013
As silly as it would be to make long-term forecasts based the first real month of Canadian Jeep Cherokee sales, this much we know: becoming Canada's ninth-best-selling utility vehicle in the first full month on the market bodes well for the facially-challenged Cherokee. It was Canada's top-selling Jeep last month, as well.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Ford sold nearly three Escapes for every one Cherokee sold by Chrysler Canada in November. But the Cherokee did outsell popular vehicles like Ford's own Edge, the Nissan Rogue, and Subaru's surging Forester, which more than doubled last November's total. • All 257 Vehicles Ranked By November 2013/YTD Canadian Sales

During a month in which sales of Canada's constant utility vehicle leader, the Ford Escape, fell 4.5%, even as the next-best-selling Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V posted meaningful improvements, the Escape still sold 28% more often than either of them. The Ford Escape will end 2013 as Canada's best-selling SUV, and it will do so having outsold its nearest rival by nearly 12,000 units.
For the second consecutive month, one of Canada's 20 best-selling SUVs and crossovers was a BMW. And for the second consecutive month, it wasn't an X1 or an X3. BMW X5 sales jumped 150% to 912 units. That's more than Ford mustered with the Explorer, according to the Automotive News Data Center. It's also more than any other premium brand utility vehicle managed, unlike October, when the X5 was outsold by the much less costly Lexus RX and Audi Q5.
Historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of these best-selling SUVs and crossovers can always be accessed through the dropdown menu at GCBC's Sales Stats page, and for those not viewing the mobile version of this site, near the top right of this page, as well. GoodCarBadCar has already published the list of Canada's best-selling trucks in November and will shortly publish a list of Canada's 20 most popular cars.
