Top 20 Best-Selling Cars In Canada - September 2010
Six of Canada's ten most popular cars from September 2010 weren't actually quite as popular as they were in September 2009. GoodCarBadCar.net's manufacturer-supplied Sales Stats show the Honda Civic, Mazda 3, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Accent, Ford Focus, and Toyota Matrix all posted declining sales in September 2010. Yet sales didn't fall to the point where these cars fell out of the top 10. Regardless, The Good Car Guy thought September 2010 was as good a time as any to restore Canada's Best-Selling Cars list to Top 20 status. This brings in two more Korean cars - the 2011 Hyundai Sonata and the Kia Forte - as well as two more Toyotas, the Venza and Yaris. What does all this add up to? For starters, the Toyota Camry is far removed from this list. Camry sales fell 47.8% in September 2010 to 683. The Toyota Camry is routinely America's best-selling car. The BMW 3-Series to Toyota Camry ratio was 2.4-to-1 in Canada in September. One other notable fact from Canada's September 2010 auto sales rundown is the battle between the 2010 Honda Civic and 2010 Mazda 3. September appears to be Honda's month. In September of 2009, Honda's Civic out-sold the 3 by 2838 units. Last month, the Civic beat the 3 badly once again, spreading its year-to-date lead by another 2216 sales. The Honda Civic's lead through August had been just 1077 sales. Through September 2010, Honda has sold 42,796 Civics in Canada.
