Top 20 Best-Selling Cars In Canada - December 2011
The Honda Civic finished off its Canadian sales year with a booming December 2011. Sales jumped 23% year-over-year during a month in which sales of the Civic's big brother, the Accord, plunged 67.8% in Canada. Ranked number one through the early part of the year, Hyundai's Elantra slid to fourth spot in December. Year end totals for the Elantra were still 57.4% better than they were in 2010. The Volkswagen Jetta also reported a tremendous year-over-year boost, thanks in no small part to the latest Jetta's lower price and outright mainstream appeal.Though it's not normally so high up the list, Mercedes-Benz's C-Class finished December as the 13th-best-selling car in Canada. That's ahead of the BMW 3-Series, as the 3-Series' absence makes clear, but year end figures have the 3-Series topping the C-Class. The Subaru Impreza made a surprise appearance, and not just barely. The Impreza was Canada's tenth-best-selling car in December. Further down the list you'll spot the Mitsubishi Lancer, another surprise entry. Mitsubishi Canada reported the brand's best ever December sales month. Results with 2011 year end rankings are available here. For now, consider - and be thankful for - the fact that more Canadians acquired C-Class Benzes in December and Nissan Versas. These were Canada's 20 best-selling cars in December 2011.
