In April, for the third time in 2013, the Hyundai Elantra was Canada's best-selling car. Beating the Honda Civic by a slim 111 units, the Elantra accounted for seven out of every 100 passenger cars sold in Canada last month. Four out of every ten Hyundais sold in Canada is an Elantra. There were two other Hyundais in the top 20 - the Accent in 10th and the Sonata in 17th - plus three Kias: Rio, Optima, Forte.
Midsize leadership once again belonged to the eighth-ranked Ford Fusion. Six midsize cars landed in the top 20, down from seven a month ago, when the Nissan Altima ranked 17th. Altima sales fell 19.5% to 1012 units in April.
Detroit's Canadian leader is the Chevrolet Cruze, which has outsold the Ford Focus by 2352 units through the first four months of 2013. Besides those two cars and Ford's Fusion, Detroit brands were only represented by one other brand in April, Chrysler, with the 200. The same four cars were in the top 20 in March; in February they were joined by the Chevrolet Sonic, sales of which rose 23.8% to 982 in April.
Compared with the March edition of this top 20, missing cars include only the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the aforementioned Altima. They were replaced by the Kia Forte, reviewed at GoodCarBadCar earlier this week, and the aging Toyota Matrix.

Top 20 Best-Selling Cars In Canada - April 2013
