Top 13 Best-Selling Trucks In America - January 2014
As the U.S. auto industry struggled in January 2014 to fend off winter's force, the economic climate that had previously failed to slow auto sales in 2013, and the post-Christmas spending malaise, pickup truck sales fell by more than 6000 units compared with January 2013, a 4.5% drop.
With its best-selling F-Series lineup, Ford owned 34% of America's truck market in January 2014. The F-Series outsold GM's also-declining Silverado/Sierra twins by 6492 units.
Ram's pickup range, along with the Toyota Tundra and Nissan Frontier, were the bright spots in a (likely temporarily) declining category. Tundra sales rose 13%, Ram sales were up 22%, and Frontier sales shot up 88%.• All 248 Vehicle Ranked By January 2014 U.S. Sales
In the small/midsize category (which was down 4.8% to 15,951 units, just 11.7% of the overall truck segment) the Frontier's market share climbed from 15.7% in January 2013 to 30.9% in January 2014.
