Top 10 Worst-Selling Vehicles In America - September 2013

2014 Infiniti QX70
Seven vehicles which weren't on the list of America's 10 worst-selling vehicles in August 2013 were ranked among September's worst sellers when measured by year-over-year percentage decline.

The Acura TL's 66% drop, the Scion iQ's 58% slide, the Chevrolet Cruze's 51% decline, and the disappearing sales reported by the Kia Sedona, Fiat 500, Toyota Venza, and BMW X3 landed those seven nameplates on this month's worst sellers list.

As for the four returning cars, the QX70, S-Class, and XK arrive here from very different places. The S-Class is typically the best-selling car in its class, but is undergoing a replacement phase. The QX70 is a renamed Infiniti FX, a vehicle which sells less than half as often as it did six years ago, less than one-third as often as it did in 2004. And the XK has been crushed by the introduction of the less expensive Jaguar sports car, the F-Type.

Measured by volume, the Mitsubishi Mirage's placement here comes as a result of its newness; the Mitsubishi i MiEV is here because nobody wants an ugly electric car with limited range.

Historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of August 2013's worst-selling vehicles can always be accessed through the dropdown menu at GCBC's Sales Stats page, and for those not viewing the mobile version of this site, near the top right of this page, as well.

Vehicle must have been on sale in September 2013, must not have been officially cancelled by its manufacturer, and must have been showcased on manufacturer's website through September 2013. Chevrolet's Caprice PPV, Lexus LFA, Honda FCX are not eligible for this list. Sales by brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Maserati, Rolls-Royce, and Bentley go unreported, unfortunately.
* In the near-term, for the purposes of the worst sellers list, GCBC will be viewing the Acura RL and RLX as one car. Indeed, Acura's done the same with their sales release, so we're left not knowing how many RLs were left to be sold. The Audi A3 is on hiatus, but sold 7 copies in September.
