Top 10 Best-Selling Trucks In America - October 2011

2012 Ford F-150 Factory
Only two out of America's Top 10 Best-Selling Trucks from October 2011 reported lower sales this year than last. Toyota Tundra sales slid 10%; the Chevrolet Colorado was off by 6%. The best-selling truck in the United States was the Ford F-Series. No surprise there.

In fact, it's not surprising that the F-Series finished October 2011 nearly 2500 sales ahead of GM's duo, the Chevrolet Silverado (up 7%) and GMC Sierra (up 3%). Admittedly, in both of the last two editions of this post the GM duo came out ahead of the Ford, but the F-Series' year-to-date lead has now expanded to 15,103 units. Such a lead is not insurmountable, but for GM to finish 2011 ahead of Ford, it'll take some doin'.

Other gains made by pickup trucks in October included the Dodge Ram's 21% jump, the Toyota Tacoma's 13% advance, Ford's 63% Ranger improvement, the Nissan Frontier's 24% lift, and Nissan's 7% Titan sales boost. Despite the Ranger's victory this time around, through ten months the Toyota Tacoma leads among non-full-sizers by more than 10,000 sales. Moreover, small trucks are a small slice of the pie. The four leaders on the list of best-selling trucks you'll see below accounted for 12.1% of all new vehicle sales in America in October.

If a little history or context is what you need, you can see last October's version of this post here, September 2011's best-selling trucks post here, and America's best-selling SUVs and passenger cars here and here. What you see below are the Top 10 Best-Selling Trucks In America from October 2011.
