Top 10 Best-Selling Trucks In America - July 2011
With increasing frequency GoodCarBadCar.net seems to be the receiver of emails complaining that the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra should be combined so GM stands a fair chance against the Ford F-Series. Those emails, comments, Twitter complaints - whatever they may be - seem to ignore the fact that even when combined, the Silverado and Sierra don't measure up these days, not in July (in which the GM twins found 45,714 buyers between them) or in the first seven months of 2011 (in which the GM twins found 296,100 buyers). The Avalanche isn't popular enough to take GM over the hump either, by the way.How 'bout GM's smaller trucks? Together, sales of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon totalled 4591 in July 2011. Not what you'd call super-mega-popular, the two of them. Toyota Tacoma sales slid 7.7% in July and still nearly doubled the Canyon/Colorado small pickup duo.The F-150 and its bigger brethren are a mighty force even when sales are falling 2.7%. The Ford F-Series is up 7.7% this year. It has been America's best-selling truck all year and was, of course, America's truck of choice last year, too. There'll be more on truck sales later this month. For now, these are America's 10 Best-Selling Trucks from July 2011. Rank | Truck | Status | July 2011 | July 2010 | Year-To-Date |
