With assistance from the X1, BMW SAV volume rose 47% in July 2013. Excluding the X1, which wasn't on sale a year ago, BMW X models sales rose 3% in the United States last month.
At Mercedes-Benz, sales of the GLK, M-Class, G-Wagen, and GL-Class rose 33% to 8267 units in July. One-third of that volume was generated by the GLK.
At Audi, where Q volume has risen 48% this year, the Q5 carries 66% of the crossover load; 25% of total Audi brand volume.
Although the MDX was the more popular Acura in July, the RDX accounts for a greater percentage of Acura sales. Slightly more than half of Acura crossover volume is RDX-derived; Acura collects 28% of its U.S. volume with the RDX. |

Together, the nine smallest and least costly premium brand utility vehicles were responsible for 1.3% of the overall new vehicle market in July. That figure would be higher, but Infiniti hardly sells any EX37s. Or QX50s. Or whatever they're called. Infiniti sold 12,873 EXs in 2008 but is on pace to sell just 1660 this year.
Large luxury SUVs and crossovers, many of which (if not all) compete with some of the vehicles you see below, were charted earlier. You can click any model name in the tables below to find historical monthly and yearly U.S. sales data. You can also select a make and model at GCBC's Sales Stats page. These tables are now sortable, so you can rank luxury SUVs and crossovers any which way you like. Suggestions on how GCBC should break down segments can be passed on through the Contact page.
