NISSAN WILL HELP OTHER AUTOMAKERS DISCOVER HOW GREAT THE GT-R REALLY IS
In light of Porsche's attempts to see if the Nissan GT-R really can lap the Nurburgring in under 7 minutes and 30 seconds and discovering that they (Porsche) could barely crack 8 minutes and thus accused Nissan of.... cheating, Nissan responded with one of the best ever automaker-to-automaker quotes. This is much better stuff than Obama surrogates retaliating against McCain surrogates. (Watch the 7:29 lap by clicking here.)
"We offer performance driving courses for prospective and current GT-R owners to help them get the best performance from their car. We would welcome the opportunity to help any auto manufacturer with understanding the full capabilities of the GT-R."
At first glance, some auto pundits felt that Nissan should just ignore Porsche's whining. Everybody knows the GT-R punches above its weight class, that its bite is even more vicious than its bite, and to lend credence to Porsche's complaints would diminish the GT-R's gravitas. Fear not. Nissan came up with a great press release and a terrific quote which, in the end, made Porsche look like crying babies.

Why The Corvette Z1’s Nurburgring Time Shouldn't Be Compared With The Nissan Gt-r
We’ll give GM plenty of kudos for creating a sports car that officially lapped the famous Nurburgring in a mere 7 minutes and 26.4 seconds as it puts plenty of supercars costing double its price to shame, but ultimately, its somewhat unfair to...

Nissan Gt-r At The 'ring
As if attempting to prove the notion that the twin-turbo V6 in their GT-R supercoupe generates more than the stated horsepower, and to further the cause of all-wheel drive, and to add to the cred of their ride & handling engineers.... (breathe), Nissan...

Porsche Slower Than Nissan - Allegedly
GT-R carries with it strong connotations for the Nissan/Sony/Gran Turismo crowd. In all my living days, I've only seen a handful of Nissan's Skyline GT-R. They've all been right-hand drive, just like every GT-R in existence. Sony PlayStation...
