Mazda Produces 100,000th new Demio / Mazda2 in Japan


Today, Mazda announced that production of the all-new Demio / Mazda2 hatch in Japan reached 100,000 units at the end of January 2008. Domestic production of Mazda’s new mini hatch began eight months ago, at the end of May 2007. In terms of sales, in Japan Mazda sold 34,389 units in the first six months while in Europe, 12,591 units in a period of four months. At the Geneva Show in March, Mazda will expand the Demio/Mazda2’s line-up with the addition of a three-door version (see here).
