Out of character with the first three-quarters of 2014, the numbers achieved by the Chevrolet Impala, Chrysler 300, and Dodge Charger – Canada's three top-selling mass-market cars – were up significantly in October 2014.
Impala sales more than doubled, the 300 was up 76%, and Charger sales shot up 39%. Together, those three cars were up 87% last month; down 18% this year.
October's results aren't a reversing of a trend, however. Nothing more than a brief bit of respite, increased volume from these somewhat affordable big cars still only translated to a segment worth 2.5% of Canada's passenger car volume in October 2014.You can click any model name in the tables below to find historical monthly and yearly Canada auto sales data. You can also select a make and model at GCBC's Sales Stats page. This table is sortable, so you can rank large cars any which way you like. Source: Automakers* Genesis refers only to the sedan, not the coupe. For Canadian purposes - Hyundai USA doesn't yet breakdown sales figures for the sedan and much less costly coupe - the Genesis will now be shown with both these volume brands, with which Hyundai is a direct competitor, and midsize luxury cars, with which the Genesis competes.
GCBC isn't here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data for the sake of comparison. The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better. You can always find the sales results for EVERY vehicle and form your own competitive sets by using the All Vehicle Rankings posts.RECOMMENDED READINGLarge Car Sales In Canada - November 2014 YTDLarge Car Sales In Canada - September 2014 YTDLarge Car Sales In Canada - October 2013 YTDTop 20 Best-Selling Cars In Canada - October 2014Midsize Car Sales In Canada - October 2014 YTDCanada Auto Sales Brand Rankings - October 2014 YTD
