Lada Employs Active Aero Hood to Come to a Stop



It looks like AvtoVAZ engineers were way ahead of their time when developing the Lada Samara hatchback, as you can see in this enlightening video that shows an example of the three door model making use of its hood as an active aero brake to slow it down on the highway.

There are still some ergonomic glitches and visibility issues to work out but the system does what it sets out to do just fine.
