January 2013 Top 20 Best-Selling SUVs In Canada

2013 Ford Escape Towing Ruby Red
Huge declines by a couple of Canada's most popular vehicles helped drag down the overall market in January 2013, but that doesn't mean the most popular utility vehicles suffered. The market lost 2105 sales. Honda's Civic was down by 2436. The Dodge Grand Caravan lost 762 sales. The disappearance of the Ford Ranger brought the market down by another 650.

Compass Jumped 75% In January
Meanwhile, sales of Canada's most popular SUV, the Ford Escape, shot up 24%, or 532 units. Dodge Journey sales rose slightly. Hyundai Santa Fe volume improved 25%. Sales of last year's second-ranked utility, the Honda CR-V, fell 27%. But the fifth-ranked Jeep Wrangler, which ranked twelfth among SUVs and crossovers at this time in 2012, shot up 44%.

The Wrangler was just one of four Jeeps in the top 14. With the Liberty's current hiatus (only six were sold in January, and it's not even listed on the company's website), every available Jeep was a top seller.  The quartet finished 2012 in seventh, 13th, 20th, and 23rd.
