Back in the days when most people knew "Quattro" only as the Italian word for "four", Audi presented a car that would shape the carmaker itself as well as the industry as a whole: the Audi Quattro Coupe that debuted in 1980 at the Geneva Motor Show. Now known as the Ur-Quattro, with Ur roughly translating as "first of its kind" or "the origin" from German, the all-wheel drive sports car that led to the insanity that was the Group B Audi Sport Quattro S1 was produced from 1980 through 1991 (though, U.S. deliveries stopped in 1986).
