Fiat In Talks With Mercedes-Benz About Full Partnership

Fiat Group’s CEO, Sergio Marchionne surprised reporters yesterday (Nov.6, 2007) by announcing that the Italian carmaker is in talks with the Daimler Group (aka Mercedes-Benz) about a full partnership. "We're not just talking with Daimler about engines, we're talking about everything," Marchionne told reporters on the margins of a conference. Though Marchionne declined to give out any details about the discussion with Daimler, what we’re seeing here is top level talks between Fiat and Mercedes-Benz about a possible alliance. -Continued after the jump Could this flirt lead to a new marriage? We can’t say for sure, but we’re more than certain that we’ll be hearing a lot of speculations and rumors over the next few months.
