Come on Irene…National Guard Trucks Plunge Into the Deep
The hurricane that battered the U.S. East Coast over the weekend and which we came to call Irene, didn't have the same impact on all regions as some were hit more severely than others. As you can see from this video, Manville, a Borough in Somerset County, New Jersey, was pounded with such an amount of rain / floods that some roads like South Main Street turned into a river – literally.
The National Guard was on hand to offer their help and rescue stranded residents but in the case of theses soldiers in the LMTV military trucks, it was they that eventually needed some help to get out of the vehicles after being overtaken by the flood.
