Canada Auto Sales Brand Rankings - March 2013
Canadians made the Ford Motor Company the best-selling automaker in March 2013. Through the first quarter, however, FoMoCo trails the Chrysler Group by 451 units. It'll be close all year.
Unlike the Canadian results you'll see elsewhere today, Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors are shown here as corporate entities, but also as individual brands: Ford, Lincoln, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC. Six of those brands reported year-over-year declines in March. Chevrolet fell 11.5%. Fiat and Buick slid 29% and 36%, respectively.Every Vehicle Ranked By March 2013 & YTD Canadian Sales
Overall, Canada's auto industry was in decline for the fourth consecutive month. The declines haven't been major, but they have been enough to sour the positive growth recorded by pickup trucks. Ford F-Series sales rose 16% in March, for example. Ram P/U sales jumped 11%. Together, these two vehicles (Canada's two best sellers, two vehicles which account for 12.4% of all new vehicles sold in Canada, two vehicles which are yet again on pace for record-breaking years) brought in an extra 2409 sales compared with last year. Yet the industry as a whole fell by 1069 units.
From a premium standpoint, Mercedes-Benz sold 3709 vehicles; 3412 when Sprinter is excluded. A Sprinterless Benz is 291 sales ahead of BMW through the first quarter.Top 30 Best-Selling Vehicles In Canada - March 2013
