2009 Mazda CX-5 - Compact Crossover Rendering
With the production version of Ford’s Iosis-X compact crossover Concept (2006 Paris Show) set to go on sale in mid-to-late 2008, it was only logical that we’d start seeing propositions for a similar sized vehicle from “sister†Mazda sitting right behind the new CX-7. Autoexpress is leading the way with a rendering that takes on styling cues from the recently unveiled Hakaze concept, albeit with a more practical 5door body. If Mazda goes ahead and decides to build a compact crossover, expect it to be based on the Iosis-X which in turn will use Ford’s C1 platform (Ford Focus, Mazda3, Volvo S40).
