The Scirocco was here and gone. Kinda. We all want it, we were teased by it, and were told we wouldn't likely get it, and it's now confirmed we can't have it.

At least as far as North America goes, Stefan Jacoby (US Volkswagen chief) says the R32 and GTI are enough. The niche is full, he suggests in an i-view with Car&Driver. "The [2009 Scirocco] is lovely, but we can’t have everything", Jacoby says, because he believes they need to press on with their core products.
