U.S. Auto Sales Drop 15.5% in August
Falling gasoline prices didn’t seem to help automakers avert the downturn as Among the mainstream automakers, Chrysler LLC took the worst beating as it sold 110,235 vehicles, down 34 percent compared to last August. Toyota didn’t do very well either as the Japanese reported August sales of 211,533 vehicles, a decrease of 9.4 percent from last August while for the first eight months of the year, Toyota’s sales have fallen 7.8 percent.
