Top 25 Best-Selling SUVs In America - 2013 Year End

2014 Honda CR-V green
The crown looked safe but not entirely secure at the end of November 2013, but 31 days later Honda proved more than capable of keeping the Honda CR-V atop the U.S. SUV leaderboard. It was joined by its big brother, the Pilot, America's 11th-best-selling utility vehicle.

Other Japanese brands placed SUVs and crossovers in fourth, seventh, tenth, twelfth, 14th, 19th, and 22nd places. The Toyota RAV4's 27% year-over-year improvement, the Subaru Forester's 62% jump, the Nissan Pathfinder's 108% increase, and the Mazda CX-5's 84% leap were among the biggest year-over-year increases among America's 25 leading SUVs and crossovers.

• All 270 Vehicles Ranked By 2013 Year End & December U.S. Sales
• All 91 SUVs Ranked By 2013 U.S. Sales

There are three Fords in this group, from the second-ranked Escape to the ninth-ranked Edge. There are three Chevrolets, two GMCs, and one Buick. That leaves five Detroit (Italian?) brand vehicles: three Jeeps and two Dodges. No German SUVs - premium brand or otherwise - are in the top 25. The Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe tag team positioned themselves as America's 13th and 18th-best-selling SUVs in America in 2013.

Historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of these best-selling SUVs can always be accessed through the dropdown menu at GCBC's Sales Stats page, and for those not viewing the mobile version of this site, near the top right of this page, as well. GoodCarBadCar has already published the list of America's best-selling trucks and best-selling cars in 2013 and has also posted December-specific editions.
