Top 20 Worst-Selling Vehicles In America - 2014 Year End

Few continuing nameplates make appearances on these lists of the 20 worst-selling vehicles in America in 2014. (Those that do are especially noteworthy.) For the most part, the vehicles which recorded the sharpest year-over-year declines over the last twelve months are expired nameplates: Avalanche, Veracruz, Routan, Avenger.

Others, however, are waiting for replacements. The Volvo XC90 is ancient, and the second-gen version won't be here until spring 2015. In 2014, XC90 sales plunged 42%. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is being phased out in favour of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT: SLS sales dropped 49% to 232 units in 2014.

Meanwhile, among America's lowest-volume vehicles in 2014 are a number of vehicles which didn't have the whole year to generate activity.

The Chevrolet Trax, for instance, only went on sale in 2014's final month; the Alfa Romeo 4C arrived in November. But mixed in with those cars and a number of defunct automobiles are other uncommon cars.

Indeed, many are meant to be rare. Audi's R8 total in 2014 was only 14% off the average U.S. R8 sales pace from the previous six years.
