September 2012 Top 5 Best-Selling Trucks In Canada

* Gasp *

So starts the ninth-grade girl's rendition of September 2012's best-selling trucks story.

Ford F-Series sales... down?

Ram pickup sales... down?

See all those dot dot dots? That's also my imitation of the ninth-grade girl's September 2012 best-selling trucks story. But she'd be iterating a fair point. It's not often that Canadian Ford F-Series sales fall on a year-over-year basis: September marks only the second time this year, a year in which F-Series sales are up 13%, and only the ninth time in the last 21 months.

In recent times, the Ram P/U's decline has been even more uncommon. September marks the first time since August of last year that the Ram division has reported a decline for the company's truck, Canada's second-best-selling vehicle this year.
2012 Ford F-150 incentives in Canada
Of course, this may have just been a lull. Fuel prices are rising, but have been doing so for some time. Up to this point, the price of gas has not been a deterrent as Ford and General Motors and Chrysler have incentivized the iron out of these trucks. Perhaps September 2012 will go down in history as the junction at which Canadians steered toward the Scion iQ. Or not.
