Sales of minivans rose 4.5% in the United States in calendar year 2014, climbing to 556,548 over the course of the last twelve months. This was the best year for minivans since 2008.
• U.S. Vehicle Sales Rankings By Model - December 2014 Year End
Propelled by the segment's two top sellers - Windsor, Ontario-built twins - minivan volume increased by 24,191 units compared with 2013. The Chrysler Town & Country was America's best-selling minivan in 2014; the Dodge Grand Caravan ranked second.
Last year's leader, the Honda Odyssey, slid to fourth. The Toyota Sienna ranked third. The Volkswagen Routan disappeared. The Mazda 5 will soon.
Chrysler and Dodge combined for 48.9% market share over the last year, up from 46.3% in 2013.
