In an email response to GoodCarBadCar's question, "Is the Ford Flex officially or unofficially discontinued in Canada?", Ford's spokesperson, Christine Hollander, said, "No, Flex is still part of our line up."

But only just. After selling 542 Flexes last June, only 91 were sold in September, only 56 in October, only 44 in November, 23 in December, 15 in January. You get the picture. Ford Flex sales are rapidly declining toward near nonexistence.

Ford's actually in the utility vehicle doldrums right now, as the Explorer took a hit in the first one-sixth of 2015, the Edge is set to be replaced, the best-selling Escape fell 14% in February, and the Flex, well, we discussed the Flex already.

Meanwhile, among utility vehicles that come standard with a third row in Canada, the top seller in February 2015 was the Nissan Pathfinder. Sales of Nissan's middle-rung crossover jumped 30.5% to 702 units last month.

GCBC isn't here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data for the sake of comparison. The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better. This explains why you'll see the Wrangler and Xterra listed with small SUVs, too, and the Subaru Outback shown with mainstream cars... because readers have wanted it both ways. You can always find the sales results for EVERY vehicle and form your own competitive sets by using the All Vehicle Rankings posts.
