Midsize Car Sales In Canada - March 2013

2013 Ford Fusion Red Front angle
Canada's 15 core midsize sedans found 12,846 buyers in March 2013. Add the six hybrid specialists and the total climbs to 13,625. Throw in three more crossovers - the Subaru Outback, Toyota Venza, and Honda Crosstour - and 15,121 loosely-defined midsize cars were sold in Canada last month.

Canada's four best-selling compact cars found 18,857 buyers in March. Those four cars - the Civic, Mazda 3, Elantra, and Corolla - set the example for the majority of compact cars. Buick's Regal doesn't sell as often as the Verano. The Malibu isn't as popular as the Cruze.

The Avenger doesn't sell with the same frequency as the Dart. Same goes for the Optima and much smaller Rio, Altima and Sentra, Legacy and Impreza, Kizashi and SX4, Passat and Jetta. Although Ford's Fusion outsold the Focus in March, the same can not be said in regards to the first quarter of 2013.

Not by GCBC's choice are the Passat and CC combined. This is how Volkswagen Canada releases Passat sales data.
GCBC isn't here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data. The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better, right? You can always find the sales results for EVERY vehicle and form your own competitive sets by using the All Vehicle Rankings posts.
