Mercedes-Benz Announces AMG Sports Package for 2010 E-Class

For those that don't care to wait for the forthcoming 2010 E-Class AMG model that will most likely boast a 6.2-liter V8 with close to 550HP but do wish to carry the AMG spirit, Mercedes-Benz has introduced a new, optional sport package for its just released executive saloon. Available from the market launch of the new E-Class in March 2009, the AMG sports package can be combined with all engine variants and all design and equipment lines.

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class AMG Sports Package On the outside, the package consists of a bodykit that comprises a front apron with large cooling air intakes, side skirts and a rear apron. There's also sport exhaust tailpipe -oval shaped in the four-cylinder models and rectangular in the V6 and V8 models- as well as newly designed 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels shod with 245/40 R18 tires at the front and 265/35 R18 tires at the rear.

Perforated brake discs and silver-painted calipers bearing Merc's logo at the front, plus the sporty DIRECT CONTROL suspension lowered by 15 mm, are also included in the AMG sports package as standard.

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class AMG Sports Package The interior features of the AMG sports package include a set of front sports seats, DINAMICA microfibre/ARTICO handmade leather with light-colored, twin decorative seams for the seat upholstery, door armrests and centre console, AMG floor mats, a sports pedal cluster in brushed stainless steel with rubber studs, a black roof lining and a shift/selector lever in nappa leather with chrome highlights.

The package also adds an AMG sports steering wheel with three spokes and a newly designed rim in nappa leather.

Depending on the engine variant and the design and equipment line, the AMG sports package costs in Germany between 2915 and 4046 Euros (incl. 19 % VAT).
