For the fifth consecutive month, sales of full-size SUVs increased in Canada. October 2013's 15% year-over-year increase in the seven-vehicle category equalled 91 extra sales.
GMC's Yukon XL was the best-selling large SUV in Canada. Its twin, the Chevrolet Suburban, finished October 2013 26 sales back of the Yukon XL.
Combined with Chevrolet's own Tahoe and GMC's regular-wheelbase Yukon, General Motors' market share fell to 66% from 76% a year ago.
Through ten months, GM Canada owns 66% of the segment, up from 58% at this point in 2012. Replacements are on their way, and GM's large SUV market share is likely to rise in 2014.
South of the border, GM's market share in the segment grew to 78% in October.
