In June 2013, Mercedes-Benz Canada sold fewer GL-Class SUVs than in any month since July of last year. Year-over-year, GL volume fell 28%, yet it outsold the whole Escalade family by a 2.4-to-1 count.
G-Class sales, on the other hand, rose 220% last month, an 11-unit increase. The wildly expensive G-Wagen is still a tremendously rare vehicle, but it wasn't much less common in June than the Lincoln Navigator.
Ford Canada sold 1102 Navigators in 2004, more than 90 per month. Lincoln is currently selling an average of Navigators 27 per month. Yet Mercedes-Benz sells more and more copies of the GL-Class, year after year, and GL volume is up 41% this year, a pace which could result in nearly 2800 GL sales in 2013.
