Ford Advises 2013 Escape 1.6L EcoBoost Owners to Stop Driving Their Vehicles Due to a Fire Hazard

For the second time this week, Ford has issued a recall for its brand-new 2013 Escape.

The first action affecting 8,266 Escape crossovers built from March 8, 2012 through June 7, 2012 was to fix carpet padding that could get in the way of braking.

The second recall announced today is more serious as Ford is warning owners of the 2013 Escape with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine, built through July 11, 2012, to stop driving the SUVs and to immediately contact their dealers as there is a potential fire hazard.
