Fiat Looking into Mexico to Build its U.S. Bound Alfa Romeos


In addition to searching for a possible partner to build its U.S. bound Alfa Romeo models, the Fiat Group is also looking into creating a new plant in Mexico that could supply both North and South America. Fiat desperately needs to find a solution to the weak dollar in order to start selling Alfa Romeos in the U.S. in late 2009. -Continued

Creating a factory in Mexico will not only solve Alfa Romeo’s problem but at the same time it will help Fiat cope with the growing demand in South America as the company needs more production for the region. Mexico’s strategic position is considered ideal as it will help balance Fiat’s needs in North and South America.
