Canada's commercial van segment took a dive in February 2014 as Ford Canada's transition from the first-generation of North America's Transit Connect to the second-gen model goes slowly.
The Transit Connect, Canada's second-best-selling commercial-oriented van at this time in 2013, is down 86% this year and was off February 2013's pace by 89% last month. New vans are beginning to arrive at dealers, but not in the kinds of numbers that would support 400+ monthly sales.
Ford's E-Series, however, was Canada's top-selling commercial van in February 2014. The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter ranked second with a 14% increase to 280 units. Nissan's two NVs combined for 133 sales. Ram's new ProMaster nearly matched January's output for the best month yet, but was one unit shy.
